A research driven approach
Fundamental research and analysis sit at the heart of our strategy, with a focus on UK and Indian mid and small cap companies. The acquisition of Clear Capital has strengthened our capability, with nearly 30 analysts covering 170 UK companies across nine sectors, several of which are ranked top 3 in Thomson Extel 2007 UK Small Caps Report.
Our aim is to avoid short-term market noise, instead understanding the longer-term sources and sustainability of competitive advantage, using primary data (industry experts & consumer polling techniques) to inform our view. Independence of mind is important, continually questioning the market and consensus view. We produce high conviction ideas, avoiding “hold” recommendations.
In addition we offer high quality execution, providing clients with liquidity and trading in UK and Pan European markets. Our sales traders and traders work in accordance with best execution requirements.
We are adviser, sponsor and broker to more than 40 companies, with a focus on AIM listed stocks, where we act as NOMAD to c.30 clients. In addition we offer corporate access on any of 170 stocks that we cover.
Research and sales on Indian equities, BSE and NSE listed, and AIM listed Indian companies, will launch in Q3 2008. Our focus will be mid cap, so sub NSE Nifty 50. Access and roadshows with Indian companies is a core service for institutional clients. We have commission arrangements in place with several leading investment banks with significant market share in Indian equities. We also have relationships with Indian financial firms Almondz and Meghraj.
